TECHNOLOGY

GRP technology
proven by standards

Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), filament winding and construction according to AD-Merkblatt N1, BS 4994 and DIN 18820: the foundation of every Tara filter.

MATERIAL

Why GRP?

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) combines the chemical resistance of polymers with the mechanical strength of glass fibres. Unlike steel vessels, a GRP filter does not corrode, requires no internal coatings and retains its full load-bearing capacity throughout its entire service life, at a significantly lower weight.

  • Chemical protective barrier: made of a combination of adequate resin, C-glass veil and glass fibres in contact with water.
  • Mechanical reinforcement: spray-up roving, woven roving, and radial and helical filament winding.
  • GRP inside as well: flanges, internal components, piping and supporting legs made of the same material, with no galvanic joints.

Dual Standards

We adhere to globally recognised standards, the German AD-Merkblatt N1 and the British BS 4994, because it is precisely these dual standards that ensure the impeccable, highest quality of our pressure filters.

All other European standards are based on these standards.

AD

AD – Merkblatt N1

GERMAN STANDARD
The standard that defines the design, calculation and manufacture of pressure filters.

BS

BS 4994

BRITISH STANDARD

The standard that guarantees material quality, performance and operational safety.

FROM CALCULATION TO DELIVERY

Production Process

1

Calculation and design

Our in-house R&D team sizes every filter according to flow rate, filter media and pressure. Calculation according to AD-Merkblatt N1 and BS 4994.

2

Lamination and winding

Chemical protective barrier first, then mechanical reinforcement by radial and helical filament winding, according to DIN 18820.

3

Testing

Before delivery, every filter is tested at a test pressure of 3.75 bar, i.e. 150% of the working pressure.

4

Customisation and delivery

Position of connections, colour (standard RAL 5015), vinylester lining for ozone and higher working pressures up to 6 bar, according to the project.
